7-day real food meal plan

I thought I would share with you all what a typical week of meals looks like for me. This is a real food meal plan. I want to straight up say that this may not work for you. I try to eat completely dairy free and grain-free (with the exception of an occasional grain). My body responds best this way. I have a lot of energy, I sleep well, no more migraines and I don’t have any digestive issues. If you have any of those issues, maybe you should try it out!

I promise that these recipes are not super intense nor do they take a lot of time. They are all pretty basic with a meat and vegetables. If you don’t have time after work to cook, then you can chop everything up on Sunday so it’s ready to just throw together during the week.

If you don’t have any time to chop any vegetables, then you may need to analyze your life and you mayyyyyyy be a litttttle too busy! Everyone should have time to chop up a potato!

Breakfast

My breakfasts usually last all morning. I am always in a rush to get to work so I scramble up some eggs (actually, usually my husband does for me while I get ready cuz he is the best ever) and either eat it really fast before I leave or eat in the car on my way to work. Then at work I eat some snacks and/or yogurt.

Lunch

I eat leftovers 99% of the time for lunch. If I end up not being able to make dinner one night for some reason, I usually eat a smoothie for lunch the next day or an easy combination of salami, fruit, and salad.

Dinner

Usually I would eat out one of these meals for dinner, but I wanted to give you some options so you can see more! The reason we only try to eat out once/week is because we are trying to pay off loans and are on a strict budget.

Snacks

I don’t eat two snacks every day, but thought I would give you some options. Click here to see my post about healthy snack options. Sometimes I am just not hungry in the afternoon after lunch! Also, I am constantly drinking water throughout the day. I carry a 22oz water bottle with me at all times.

Some of these items you can sub for dairy or grains if you prefer to do it that way.

We find that eating at home and eating leftovers saves us SO MUCH money. If you are struggling to pay off loans or credit card bills, then I would recommend trying to eat out less and cook at home more (I know it’s more boring but worth it!). If I can do it, you can do it. One of my absolute favorite things is to eat out and enjoy a nice glass of wine with dinner. NOT REALISTIC right now. I’ve accepted it and am powering through. Dave Ramsey says, “Live like no one else, so that one day you can live like no one else!”

I hope that gives you some ideas for meals and how to plan our your week!
